vega. oh how we love you vega. after moving to college, nothing has ever been the same. i dream of you vega. i miss your smell, your delicious food, and the wonderful guac. you may think this is a little dramatic and fake, but we mean every single word of this. we drop first and last names and have spent hours in this restaurant. since we have been gone, the hole in our hearts just keep growing, and when we come home for thanksgiving the hole will be filled with nachos. GET THE NACHOS!!!! THEY ARE SO GOOD!!!! as we bite into our food, we see the colors and feel the bliss of the characters in ratatouille. nothing will top our local mexican place.
What a little hidden gem in Hartsdale! Was looking for a New Mexican restaurant and found this on Google. I was so impressed. It's quaint, modern, and the food was delicious. The best fresh guacamole I've had in a long time. Our waiter was so sweet and took time to chat with us, I don't remember his name but he said he's been there for 10 years and we went on a Sunday afternoon. Try the coconut mojito.. the best!
The food menu at this place is pretty straight forward and not a large amount of options but the options are enough for us. Food is always good and on point. The drinks are amazing which they have their jalapeño infused tequila which is spicy and great with their drink cocktails. The servers at this restaurant are amazing. Constantly cleaning empty dishes and drinks from the table ready to serve the next entrée and or drink. The ambience is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Low calm music and nice lighting. Always a great night. Love this place!
This place has had a rebound. I would give this place a 3.5 The carne asada came out properly cooked and was pretty good. B+ The Chipotle lemon chicken was more like chipotle chicken with no lemon. There was no taste of lemon at all. The mojito was not good. No mint was muddled in at all while making the drink and mint was plopped on top of the drink. I can tell that great strides were taken to fix the shortcomings in the past and it has paid off.
Probably more of a 3.5; it was definitely good enough that we'd want to go back to try again. I had the carne asada -- the meat was delicious; the vegetables, though, were overcooked/wilted, so I couldn't actually eat them. The person I was dining with had chicken fajitas. She said they were good; it was kind of like everything was good, but nothing to rave about. Our server was very nice. If I'm able to go back again I'll update my review!
